Relaxed Item of the Day

Talk about casual! This maxi dress is the ultimate in tshirt chic. I love the sleeve length, hem length and color--everything about this dress just screams comfort and cool. I'm going to advise taking the route of belting this, but if you feel like just hanging out in loose comfy clothing just slip this on and walk out the door. No effort needed. Hello, summer.

Flowy Item of the Day

Are you ready to get carried away by the beauty that is today's Item of the Day? That's right, this flowy maxi dress will make you feel like you are floating on air. Pair this with a cropped navy cardigan, blazer, or even a navy long sleeve shell underneath to top this look off for the summer. Colorblocking is the key here, and even though there are a lot of colors going on, the dress has such a large expanse, that it doesn't seem too cluttered or overwhelming. The pleating is highly flattering, and with a dress this soft, you are sure to glide into summer in true fashion! (PS I totally wish this had some sort of sleeve on it-- even if it were a short sleeve. Wah. #JewishFashionistaProblems)

Gorgeous Item of the Day

Kk, so I know a lot of you hate it when I post some of the more expensive items of the day, but this dress from French Connection is a must-post. Talk about glitz and glamour meets simplicity! The color is subtle, but the metallic at the neck is just the right amount of glitz. This dress has all the right proportions for women of ANY size and the color will compliment any skin tone. It's essentially perfect in every way, and if you're willing to dish out the 300+ bucks for a fancy occasion dress, then make it this one. You'll float into the room and steal the show, no question!

Neutral Item of the Day

Oh my, what a pretty dress! It's loose fitting, but still structured enough to show off the parts of your body that you want to enhance! It's certainly modest, and it is the perfect color for anyone and everyone. If you're worried about feeling washed out in this though, try livening up the totally bare color with some brights, like a coral colored belt and some green shoes. Add black for a more dramatic effect, or embrace my "must" of the moment, which is pastel--this neutral base is so perfect for a pastel color palette!

Chic Item of the Day

I love love love this dress! It has  such a an Audrey-Hepburn-classic feel and silhouette with the high neckline, long hem, and cinched waist, but the print and colors make it totally contemporary and chic. The neutral colors will make it a fabulous fit for ladies of all skin tones, and it will truly accentuate all the right areas of your body, no matter how big or small you are. A cardigan and some flats make this perfect for a weekend outing, or add some cute wedges or espadrilles for a nice spring or summer shul outfit!

Print Item of the Day

I don't know about you, but I find that maxi dresses tend to come in the sleeveless or strapless variety, so when I find a maxi dress that has sleeves I get super excited. This adorable dress from Piperlime has a real Missoni print like feel to it, but is a fraction of the price. These colors should work on almost every or any complexion, which I love. It's not too overly bohemian that you look like an Olsen sister, but it's just loose enough that women of all sizes should be comfortable wearing it. I like that it has a bit more structure because maxi dresses tend to have way more material than other pieces of clothing, which people can get lost in; in other words: no 'tent-effect" here!

Tie Dye Item of the Day

I have yet to meet a girl who doesn't love a little tie dye in their life. I'm not talking for the everyday, but tie dye has a certain charm and casual finesse to it that makes every girl put it on and feel chic but cool. This uber-cheap dress from Forever21 is the ultimate in adorableness from the tie dye contingent. I even bought it myself, and am thrilled with it. The colors are tame and cool, and the fit is loose and comfortable. Put a kikiriki on underneath, or slap a loose cardigan over this (depending on your comfort level), and then pair with a ridiculously adorable sandal. Then go about your day.

Mad Men Season 5 - 'Dress' Like A Lady!

It's baaacck! Finally, after months of longing and waiting, one of my favorite shows has returned, and it is evident that I can hardly contain my excitement! As a follow-up to my successful post on that other period-piece show I posted about (ahem, Downton Abbey), I decided to write one dedicated solely to the groovy sixties, essentially the main character in the show Mad Men!

So what were the dresses of the moment? Figure-flattering, waist-cinching, covered-but-alluring sheaths that were vibrant and colorful. Women wanted to be noticed in the sixties, recovering from a World War that cast a gloom over the country for more than two decades. It was time to have fun in the sixties! I say, it's about time we bring back some of that fun!

Lord knows I did my best to try and find as many of the following dresses with sleeves, but the fact of the matter is that times are different, and full-on modesty is not as prevalent or fashionable today as it was back then. Suffice it to say, the sixties was a time where women challenged their roles in society and started to break through that glass ceiling, so it was a great time to be a woman. The following dresses are highly reminiscent of the era--fun, flirty, daring, but still ladylike. Add a cardigan to the barer dresses, and you are set for some sensational sixties fabulosity!

I Do! Modest Brides and Bridesmaids-- or Just Your Average Frummie

Happy do-da day, Ruche just released their Wedding Collection! Now, I'm not a bride, but I am ever the bridesmaid, so this does make me happy in ways it probably shouldn't. Ruche is geared toward the vintage-y bride, but there is no reason this bridesmaid can't revel in a little vintage-y-bride action, especially since their stuff is versatile enough for the everyday woman! Here's a taste of what they have to offer, but make sure you go check out their entire "To Have and To Hold" Collection!

I especially LOVE this Audrey Dress, which is as modest and can be! It is a bit pricey, but I think it's fabulous from start to finish, and you definitely don't have to be a bride to wear it! I happen to find that for the frummie contingent, this collection is more 'engagement party' than it is wedding, but awesome nonetheless!

Add these amazing sash belts (which I just bought) for a touch of class! They are perfect for any dress, not just the Audrey dress!

Looking for a cover up? What frummie isn't?? try some of these, which are super girly and feminine, and perfect for all your Pesach outfits!

Don't forget some perfect-for-spring head-wear! Some of these headbands are so fascinating and beautiful, that if you dare to pull them off, you will be the envy of ladies everywhere. You definitely don't need to be a bride to pull these stunners off!

Fresh Twist Item of the Day

When I watched this dress go down the Asos runway, I just knew I had to have it. A fresh twist on a classic black dress, this frock can be accessorized with so much color! Add a shell underneath or a cropped cardigan on top (so as not to take away from the design), and you are modestly set for any excursion.  Bonus! That yellow belt comes with the dress, so for $50, you really get your money's worth! I can only dream of what this dress would look like with sleeves. Sigh.

It's perfect for all women of all sizes, as it's basically a black sheath dress, cinched in all the right places. Feel free to drool at any point in this post, and then order this dress for any fancy occasion in your near and upcoming future. You're welcome!
